ఎస్వీయూ ప్రొఫెసర్ కు ఫ్రాన్స్ ఆహ్వానం




తిరుపతి: ఎస్వీయూనివర్సిటీలో ఫిజిక్స్ ప్రొఫెసర్‌గా పనిచేస్తున్న సికె జయశంకర్‌కు ఫ్రాన్స్ ఆహ్వానం పలికింది. ఫ్రాన్స్‌లోని లిల్లీ యూనివర్సిటీలో జూన్ 6 నుంచి 8వ తేదీ వరకు జరిగే అంతర్జాతీయ సదస్సులో ఆయన పాల్గొం టారు. ఈ సదస్సులో ఆయన ‘లాంథనైడ్ మాలిన్యం చేసి న గ్లాసెస్, గ్లాస్ సిరామిక్స్ మరియు నానో మెటీరియల్స్’ అనే అంశంపై పరిశోధన చేయనున్నారు. ఆయన ఇప్పటికే పలు జాతీయ సదస్సుల్లో పాల్గొని ప్రతిభను కనబరిచారు. తాజాగా ఫ్రాన్స్ కు వెళ్లనుండడంపై సహోద్యోగులు, కుటుంబీకులు శుభాకాంక్షలు తెలియజేశారు. ఆయన మరిన్ని ఘనతలు సాధించాలని ఆకాంక్షించారు.

Dr. Chellu S. Chetty, Ph.D
He completed M.S. degree in Zoology and Ph.D. degree in Physiology from Sri Venkateswara University, an institute of higher learning, Tirupati, India. He served on faculty from 1979-1988 in the department of Zoology, Sri Venkateswara University.
For 10 years he has taught molecular, reproductive and general physiology at the graduate and post-graduate level. He has guided 10 doctoral students and one M.Phil student in the field of biochemical toxicology. After working as Post-doctoral fellow at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS from 1982-1984 and as Associate Research faculty at Selma University from 1988-1993, Dr. Chetty joined the Savannah State University in August 1993.

TIRUPATI: As many as 18,931 of the 24,184 candidates who took the common entrance test conducted for admission into the postgraduate courses of Sri Venkateswara University (SVUCET-2005) have qualified, making for a pass percentage of 78.28.
The entrance tests were conducted between May 11 and 18 at Tirupati, Cuddapah and Nellore. Entrance test was not conducted for anthropology, philosophy, population studies, Tamil and fashion technology, as the number of applicants was less than the available seats. Two new courses, M.Tech (space technology and applications) and M.A (social work) have been introduced during the year. The percentage of men who qualified was 54.96, while for women it was 45.04. As many as 27.33 per cent of BC candidates qualified, while only 19.36 per cent of SC candidates did so.

SVUCET 2004 results

In all 16,401 of the 21,132 candidates who took the Sri Venkateswara University Common Entrance Test (SVUCET-2004) qualified for admission into the various post-graduate courses offered by the university. The entrance tests were conducted from June 9 to 19 for admission into the 34 courses offered by it.

The Vice-Chancellor, P. Murali, released the SVUCET results in his chambers here on Sunday.

History

Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati was established in 1954, in the famous temple town of Tirupati, South India, under the auspices of Late Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and with support of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. The University was started with six departments of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Economics and Philosophy initially.

Campus

With a sprawling campus of nearly 1000 acres (6 km²) and buildings of majestic beauty and architectural splendor whose architect was the famous Mokshagundam Visweswarayya. The University has eight constituent colleges concerning various conventional and advanced subjects. The University has 58 departments, wherein 71 different PG courses and several Diploma and Certificate courses are being run with a total academic faculty strength of 400 and 1500 non-teaching and a student strength of 5000, including research scholars.

Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering. (estd. 1959) ([1]) is an autonomous institution whose foundation was laid by Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, on 13th October 1959. In the four and half decades, it has become a premier technological institution in India.
